Carmel Realty Company's New Agent Offices

Carmel Realty Company is excited to announce that our new building, at Dolores & 8th, will be open to the public Tuesday, August 13, following Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue. We purchased the space in May and almost immediately, architect Craig Holdren of Lietzke & Holdren and general contractor Steve Gere of Paragon Construction, got to work creating a new space for our 31 REALTORS to work, meet with clients and exchange ideas.  Our current office, also on Dolores and just south of 7th, will remain as our corporate headquarters as well as home to our Vacation and Long Term Rentals division.

For the past year, this building has sat empty; prior to that it was home to a title company and at another point a grocery store. The Carmel City Council was very supportive, providing overwhelming approval for our plans. Many members expressed excitement at the improved curb appeal to this previously empty space. We've working closely with our landscaper architect, Michelle Comeau, to beautify this significant intersection in Carmel by creating a welcoming park-like setting while also providing convenient parking to our clients.

We're truly merging the old with the new as we did with our headquarters on Dolores, including custom-made glass doors, touchscreen Apple TVs, and beautiful tile floors. The final design has a Hacienda-feel as we've added a trellis to the exterior and kept the barrel-tiled roof. Combining private offices with a large and open meeting space will increase our team synergy and encourage collaboration.

Please take a moment to walk by to see our progress and we look forward to sharing the space with you on August 13th. This is a big year for Carmel Realty Company as we celebrate 100 years in this community. Our new office space will be the perfect capstone to this special anniversary. This space shepherds us into our next 100 years and we look forward to sharing it with our clients and community.

Bill Mitchell dies at 83

If you never met Bill Mitchell, by all accounts, you should wish you had.

Mitchell, who died March 26, was a man who was decorated for his service as an Air Force pilot in Vietnam, went on to fly commercially for three decades, established what would become the Monterey Peninsula's foremost luxury real estate firm, gave generously of his time and resources — and amidst all of that, managed to squeeze every bit of fun out of life.
